Erin Andrews of ESPN and the most recent season of "Dancing with the Stars" has filed a lawsuit against the hotel chains involved in an incident where a man videotaped Andrews without her consent.
A press release from this morning named eight defendants in the lawsuit including Marriot International and Radisson Hotels International. She believes that the hotels were negligent in protecting her privacy. She says that the hotels told Michael David Barrett, the man who did the videos of Andrews, that Erin Andrews was at the hotel and her room number. They also gave Barrett the room next to Andrews.
Michael David Barrett is also named in the lawsuit as a defendant.
"Although I'll never be able to fully erase the impact that this invasion of privacy has had upon me and my family, I do hope that my experience will cause the hospitality industry to be more vigilant in protecting its guests from the time they reserve a hotel room until they check out."
Michael David Barrett was sentenced to two and half years in jail.
